Many people across the globe try to use Virtual Private Network(VPN) to keep their data safe and private so that no one can track them. In a
report by VPNMentor, they have shown some serious allegations about the
company. These servers are of Seven VPN companies and they left the server
completely open and accessible, exposing private user data for anyone to see.
This is the basic security a VPN has to offer and also put a whole sum of users
at risk.
Mostly, all VPN brands say that their
services have a no-log system which eventually means no data tracking or
peeking on the respective user. But it is found that almost 2 crores or 20
million VPN users Personal Identifiable Information (PII) has been leaked over
the internet where the data included internet activity logs, email addresses,
payment info, clear text passwords, IP addresses, home addresses, phone models,
device ID, and other technical credentials.
All seven VPN companies are based in
Hong Kong and a total of 1.207 TB of data has been breached with 1,083,997,361
number of files being breached and over 20 million people’s data is involved in
this lapse. The companies claim that due to the COVID situation and the changes
in the staff, they are unable to maintain their servers.
The apps involved in these activities
are UFO VPN, FAST VPN,
FREE VPN, SUPER VPN, FLASH VPN, SECURE VPN, RABBIT VPN, almost all of these apps are developed by the same
group of developers. Also, these apps are still listed in the Google Play Store
so the links of these apps are given below, find if you are using the app and
uninstall it immediately.

research on the app and then download it in order to maintain the security and
