Technical Overview:
The
all new One Plus 8 is the eventual successor to the One Plus 7 launched last
year which had an amazing speculating result. This new beast will also beat the
One Plus 7T launched a few months later. Built quality of the new One Plus 8 is
a mixed combination of metal and glass sandwich with an outstanding Curved edge
and a display of around 6.55-inch FLUID AMOLED curved display with a display
resolution of 2400 x 1080 with an amazing pixel density of 402 pixels per inch
(PPI). It has an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a screen to body ratio of 88.69%.
Also, the display has a 90 Hz refresh rate with a wide colour gamut and a hole
punch cut out in the top left corner of the display panel and it has an in-display
fingerprint scanner. The display is covered by the Corning’s Gorilla Glass.
The One Plus 8
come has a brilliant performing CPU, which is the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon
865, which is an octa-core processor having a 7nm structure based on KRYO 585. To
run the highest quality graphic titles on smartphones such as PUBG, FORTNITE,
CALL OF DUTY, it has the latest Adreno 650 GPU. The device comes with three
variants of Ram/Storage
respectively :6/128, 8/128, 8/256. The Ram is LPDDR4X
latest technology and the storage is UFS 3.0 which has a transfer speed of
around 11.6 GB/sec. The device comes in three colour variants such as Glacial Green,
Interstellar Glow and Onyx Black.
One Plus 8 has a
camera which has a Rear Camera consisting of three sensors. The Main Sensor is
the Sony IMX586 sensor, has an aperture of f/1.75 and has a 48MP sensor
consisting of Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Electronic Image
Stabilization (EIS). The Ultra Wide Lens has a 16MP sensor with field of view
of around 116 Degrees and an aperture size of f/2.2. The third sensor is a
macro sensor with a 2MP sensor and an aperture size of f/2.4. It has a Dual LED
Flash and The Video recording max is 4K at 60 fps. Also, Super Slow Motion and
Time Lapse is available. The Front Camera has a Sony IMX471 which is 16 MP
sensor and has an aperture size of f/2.45. The Front facing camera has a Video
recording capability at 1080p 30 FPS. It also supports Face Unlock.
One
Plus has a battery capacity of around 4300 mAh non-removable battery which is
packed with a 30 W (5V x 6A) Warp Charger in the box. Despite having such a big
battery, the phone is managed to have a weight of 180 grams with a thickness of
8mm. It has a 5G connectivity due to its Snapdragon 865 processor which might
be a backlash for the phone to drain battery. As there is no 5G connectivity in
India as of now, it won’t be a big issue. The screen on time for this beast is
around 6.5 to 7 hours for a daily regular usage. One Plus 8 comes with the
Oxygen OS based on Android 10 which has an extremely fluid experience.
