Technical Overview:
Realme has been in the
smartphone industry for 2 years (from 2018) owned by BBK Electronics. After the
success of the Realme x2 and the x2 pro launched last year. It has decided to
enter the niche market capital ranging in the 28,000-price point where all the
mid-budgeters are waiting for a flagship level performing beasts at an
affordable price range with spectacular specifications and an overall good
package. This time, Realme has played around with the camera department
watching the Samsung’s Ultra zoom techniques it seems. The new Realme X3 and X3
Superzoom has been launched in the subtler price range where the X3 costs
around Rs.25000 and the Realme X3 Superzoom ranges around Rs.28000 for the
8/128 variant and Rs. 32999 for 12/256 variant.
We are going to get
around with the X3 zoom in the blog. The X3 superzoom comes with a 6.6-inch
Full HD + IPS LCD display which has a massive 120 hertz refresh rate panel. It
was expected to have an AMOLED panel from its predecessors wherein this has got
on with the IPS panel only. For those who have been using an AMOLED panel, this
won’t be a right choice as those have a vivid and vibrant colour texture in
their panel. Also, the display has a pill shaped cutout in the top left corner
of the display as they have included a dual camera setup in the front.
The Rear Camera is a
quad-camera setup in the back with the primary camera as the 64 MP ultra high-resolution
wide-angle camera with 26 mm 6 piece lens with a Field of View of 78.6° and it has the Samsung’s ISOCELL GW1 which
is an ultra-high 64Mp resolution 1/1.72" image sensor designed to take
brighter photographs with Tetra cell technology and sharp vivid colors with
real-time HDR with an aperture size of f/1.8. The second camera is the 8 MP
Ultra wide-angle 16mm 5-piece lens with a Field of View of about 119° with an
aperture size of f/2.3. The third camera is an 8MP 124mm Periscope Lens which
has 5x Optical zoom and it has an aperture size of f/2.3. The company claims
that the periscope lens can be zoomed upto 60x digital zoom. The 60x digital
zoom is the company’s marketing strategy, also they claim that the smartphone
can be used to take pictures of the Star Gazing. The fourth camera is a 4 MP
Macro Camera with a 4 cm focus distance with an aperture size of f/2.4.
The Front Camera which is embedded in the display has two cameras, the
first one is the primary camera with a 32 MP Sony IMX616 sensor which is a
5-piece lens and it has an aperture size of f/2.5 and has a Field of View of
around 80.4°. The Second lens is an 8 MP ultra-wide 5-piece lens with an
aperture size of f/2.2 and a Field of View of 105°.
Realme has included an Optical Image Stabilization Camera for the First
time. The rear camera has a video recording quality of 4K,1080P,720P with 60/30
FPS respectively. The front camera has a video recording quality of 1080P or
720P with 30 FPS frame rate respectively.
Underneath the hood, the beast is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon
855+ Processor which is a 7nm octa-core processor with a clock speed of upto
2.96 Ghz. It has Adreno 640 as the graphic processor. They claim the AnTuTu
Benchmark score to be around 5,17,000 which is really a great score which is
more than enough for any application to handle.
The phone comes in 2 Ram and Storage variants which is 8GB/128GB variant
with the highest end variant as 12GB/256GB respectively. It has a 4200 mAh
battery with 30 Watts Dart charger included in the box. The fingerprint sensor
has been embedded into the power button with a blazing unlock speed of 0.4
seconds. Type-C port is present at the bottom of the smartphone and no 3.5mm
jack is present. A mono speaker and a nano-sim tray is present at the bottom
which has no micro SD card slot expansion. The phone has a front and back glass
protection by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. UFS 3.0 and liquid cooling is also
great. The phone is a bit on the heavier side with 202 grams but the weight
distribution is done really well. Overall, this is a great package for the
price point, but if you are a Realme X2 Pro user, then the upgrade won’t make a
big difference.
