Samsung to shift a major portion of smartphone manufacturing to India


Samsung is one of the finest and largest smartphone manufacturers in the world. The South Korean company produces the second-largest smartphone manufacturing unit in Vietnam. Due to some taxation issues and the rate of raw materials increasing, Samsung is planning to shift its smartphone manufacturing units to India under the PLI (Production Linked Incentive).

Samsung already has the largest smartphone the manufacturing unit in Noida, and now with its deal with the government Samsung is about to produce devices worth over $40 billion ( Rs.3 Lakh Crore) over a period of 5 years. Under the PLI scheme (Production Linked Incentive) scheme Samsung will benefit by producing smartphones at a very low rate despite all the taxes, consumers will receive smartphones at a lower price compared to Chinese brands and other competitors as well.
