Qualcomm is a California based company which makes
Mobile Processors, Cellular Modems, Chipsets, reference designs, Bluetooth and
Wi-Fi products. They have been successful in every line up they have entered so
far. Its Quick chargers are one of its products to improve faster charging.
Qualcomm has launched its Quick Charge 5.0 as its new
charging technologies which can charge devices from 0 to 50 percent in just 5
minutes. The company launched its first fast charging technology Quick Charge
2.0 in 2015 followed by Quick Charge 3.0, Quick Charge 4.0, Quick Charge 4+, and
now with its new product line up the company claims that with the new quick
charge 5 technology it can offer 10 percent cooler charging yet with 4 times faster
with 70 percent more efficient experience. The phone can be backed up by 2
batteries inside allowing this tech to charge faster yet cooler which is optimized
for both USB-PD and type-C as well. Quick Charge 5 will be out in the Q3 of
2020.
QC5 will be able to charge a 4000 mAh in 15 minutes
which is mind-boggling. Also, it will support charging speeds greater than 100W
of power supply. This allows manufacturers to improve their power adapters to a
next level. With Oppo and Realme already announced their 125W chargers, this
tech will further improve their speeds. But the notable point is that even
though it charges the device at much faster speeds, it still maintained the
temperature of the device and the power adapter by also maintain the life cycle
of the battery.

It is claimed by Qualcomm that the battery performance
won't be affected by the fast charger for at least two years, after that
according to the user, the performance of the device may reduce to 80%. The QC5
will be out in the Flagships by Quarter 3 of this year which contains Qualcomm
Snapdragon 865 and 865+, it will roll out to the 700 series chipset later next
year.
“Quick Charge 5, our
fastest and most versatile charging solution, will enable consumers to enjoy
their devices for longer periods of time, without worrying about the time
required to recharge,” said Ev Roach, VP Product Management of Qualcomm.
