A few days ago, Ming-chi Kuo an Apple analyst who
always predicts exactly how the products change at Apple, this time is claiming
with the idea that iPhone 12 which will launch in September of this year will
ship no charger and earphones in the box. Yes, you read right, “No Chargers, no
earphones” in the box.
Hate tweets are flying around the internet against Apple, that how it convinces its customers to buy the same product at the same price, but with no chargers or earphones included. According to a report by The Verge, MG Siegler says that Apple has four reasons for doing this: for increased margins, shipping costs, the transition to a future no-port iPhone, and the main key factor, the environment. Apple has always been cautious about the environment because as a brand they have a great impact on the environment.

Some also claim that earlier in the past, apple
removed their 3.5m jack and then introduced Air Pods for Rs.15,000, and then
after every apple user bought Air Pods, they included a lightning cable
earphone. As such, Apple by 2021 wants to launch a phone which is completely
port less and wireless, to make its consumers used to it, Apple is removing
chargers from the box.
Also, the amount of e-waste produced by apple is mouth
boggling. Last year in 2019, approximately 1.5 billion smartphones were shipped
to consumers. That is not over, they also give tablets, laptops, etc. and it
has been calculated that 4 billion Apple products were shipped last year.
Around 3,00,000 tons of e-waste is produced just from chargers last year which
is mind-blowing.
A person who owns Apple products always has been a
regular consumer for Apple he owns Apple chargers anyway. Thus, to reduce the
e-waste produced by the company, they are planning not to ship chargers and
earphones in the box which is considered unnecessary for the Apple eco-system.
Also, this would make the box way thinner and will be packed just with the
brand-new smartphone a few paperwork.
Apple always had a lightning port in its products for
a long time. Over a while, they have gradually changed the ports to type-C in
all their MacBook and iPad Pro launched last year. The universal single cable
type-C port concept is taking over the globe for faster-charging speeds as well
to reduce the usage of different cables which will have a greater impact on the
environment. Eventually, they want to go with the same thing for iPhones or
straight away go port less. If Apple is concerned about the environment and
doing it for such purpose, then it’s great. If it is another marketing gimmick,
then Apple lovers!
